What form will your character's NV take?
A device that looks like a flip phone and a phonograph got together and had a little steampunk baby. It's a bit chunky compared to a standard cell, but it would have to be pretty sturdy to withstand the amount of trouble she tends to gets into.

Abilities

Character's Canon Abilities:
As the latest incarnation of the Avatar, Korra is the only person in the world currently able to master all four styles of elemental manipulation, called "bending." At present, she is able to use water, earth, and firebending. If she is able to use the more advanced, derivative forms of bending (lightning, metal, and bloodbending), it has not been mentioned or demonstrated. She is also the only person in the world who can learn to use the fifth type of bending, known as energybending, to manipulate the body's natural energies ("chi"), but she has not yet gained this skill.

In dire situations, it is hypothetically possible for her to enter into a trance known as the "Avatar state," where the power and experience of her previous lives grants her unparallelled strength and bending ability. Korra, however, has not yet been able to enter the Avatar state due to her difficulty connecting with her spirituality. The Avatar state also leaves her in a particularly vulnerable position; if she is killed while in this state, her spirit cannot be reincarnated and the Avatar cycle will be broken.

Korra is a master of several forms of martial arts--Tai Chi (water), Hung Gar (earth), and Northern Shaolin kung-fu (fire)--as those forms go hand-in-hand with elemental bending, reflecting aspects of the elements they are used to manipulate. She is also proficient in Ba Gua style kung-fu, which is associated with airbending. She has great physical prowess, having trained since early childhood. Fast and agile, Korra is strong enough to easily lift grown men with one hand.

Apart from the use of waterbending as an offensive fighting style, Korra is able to use water to heal wounds. Cuts, bruises, burns, and some internal injuries can be healed through the use of waterbending.

Weapons:
Korra is able to use the elements as her weapons, so it's safe to assume she has little to no training in the use of any other form of arms. Her polar bear-dog Naga serves as her animal guide and mount. Naga fearlessly carries Korra into battle, ready to defend her master at a moment's notice. She is fleet of foot, can leap great distances, is an excellent swimmer, and has a keen nose for tracking.

Point in Canon:
Episode 12: Endgame
Korra and Mako infiltrated Amon's Equalist rally with the hope of discrediting him after discovering his true identity. However, things didn't go as planned and the duo has to save the captured Tenzin and his family to prevent Amon from permanently sealing their bending. In the escape and pursuit that followed the brief skirmish, Amon was able to capture Korra using his advanced bloodbending to take her powers.

As she struggled on the ground, trying in vain to produce a flame or move the concrete floor, Amon loomed over her and simply said: "I told you I would destroy you."

These are the last words she heard before being pulled to Siren's Port.

Character Personality:
Knowing from her youth that she was the reincarnated spirit of the Avatar, a long legacy of immensely powerful and beloved individuals, imbued young Korra with a driving desire for greatness and a sense of destiny that carried her through years of intense training in the bending arts. Even at the age of four, she was incredibly confident, telling the men who had come to ascertain if she was the new Avatar that that was exactly who she was and they had to deal with it!

That sort of attitude followed her into her teenage years; Korra is sassy, brassy, and bold. She lets her temper get the better of her more often than she should, and she shoots first then asks questions later. She usually has to be held back by her friends lest she leap without looking. Because of her hotheaded and somewhat impetuous nature, she can occasionally be goaded (or tricked) into doing things she might not otherwise choose or even wish to pursue, such as being pressured into joining Tarrlok’s task force after she’d specifically said she didn’t want to. She will get right up in someone's face when provoked, and rarely backs down from a fight. Once she's accepted a challenge or committed to a course of action, she is determined to see it through to the end even if it goes against her better judgement, and there's little that can be said or done to dissuade her.

She's strong-willed, stubborn, and incredibly impatient, which leads to her cause trouble by sneaking off to places she shouldn't be in search of thrills and excitement. She can't stand to sit still for more than a few moments when there's a good time to be had elsewhere. Being left with no recourse after getting locked up by Counsilman Tarrlok taught her the value of a little contemplative meditation now and again. It's an area she's still working on; patience isn't something that comes to everyone overnight, but she's learning to let hers grow bit by bit.

Brought up under the care and guidance of the White Lotus--the organization that helped Avatar Aang and his friends topple the forces of the tyrannical Fire Lord Ozai--Korra was able to study bending under the great masters of the world, including Katara, one of the most formidable waterbenders alive. She lacked for nothing, and since she was sheltered from the harsher realities of the modern world, she sometimes appears naive or too idealistic for her own good. She was shocked by the living conditions of many who dwelt in Republic City, expecting everyone there would be sitting in the lap of luxury rather than squatting in bushes (even very sparkly ones).

That realization was only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to things Korra still needs to learn. While it isn't exactly her fault that she was raised by people who instilled in her the idea that being the Avatar made her special, she's been under that impression her entire life and it's stunted her development in other areas. Korra didn’t have a friend (not a teacher, counselor, or advisor--a friend) until she tamed a wild polar bear-dog, one of the most vicious and dangerous predators the South Pole could offer up. Her social skills are laughable, and she often finds herself at a loss when interacting with others, saying or doing exactly the wrong thing. Romantic relationships seem especially baffling; particularly, etiquette of dating eludes her and she has no idea how to comport herself. She went far as kissing a boy she liked even though he was dating someone else at the time, made worse by the fact that she'd gone on a date with his brother the previous day. Etiquette in general is a bit of a hit-or-miss topic with her. Public belching contests, anyone?

Being the Avatar also doesn’t mean that Korra is immune to the blunders of youthful inexperience. Her upbringing resulted in what might be a slightly elevated self-opinion, but her ego has taken quite a few blows since her arrival in the city. Korra is having to come to grips with the fact that her bending skills aren't the end-all, be-all of what it means to actually serve as the Avatar that the people need her to be, but she has no qualms with throwing her weight around or name-dropping to get her way, because being the Avatar comes with a lot of privileges along with the responsibilities. She acts rashly and covers her embarrassment with feigned indignation or poorly-worded comebacks. Her quick temper occasionally causes her to snap and say some pretty unkind things, but she is also usually the first to apologize once she realizes she was in the wrong. She'll bite off more than she can chew and then struggle in silence with the resulting fear and anxiety, because there is a surprisingly vulnerable and insecure young girl beneath the layers of attitude she cops. Her emotional fragility manifests itself in ways both subtle and painfully obvious, from feeling unworthy of affection after being rejected by one boy to lashing out in unnecessary displays of destruction when she fails what ought to be simple airbending exercises.

In spite of how difficult she can be, Korra has a genuinely good heart and wants to help people as best she can. She abhors injustice and isn't content to just stand by when people are being taken advantage of, though she becomes frustrated when she’s forced to cut through rows of red tape just to get things done. Even when she is nearly crippled with fear, she will stand and face the danger regardless of the odds. She'll stay by her friends through thick and thin, putting herself in harm's way to make sure they're safe. While she might occasionally act on jealousy and selfish impulses, she can also be very generous, and she'll put her own happiness aside if it makes someone she cares about happy instead.

More than anything, Korra is a young woman who is dealing with the bumps and bruises that come with the transition from adolescence into adulthood. She has a lot to learn about life, but she rolls with the punches as they come and just hopes that she can make her loved ones proud by being the best Avatar--and the best person--that she possibly can be.
